Castello di Gargonza is a privately-owned medieval hamlet, located in southern Tuscany - between Arezzo and Siena - on top of a wooded hill that overlooks the Valdichiana.

Gargonza, surrounded by its forest was, since the 14th century, a fortified hamlet in the hands of the florentine party of the Ghibellines. Then, since 1444, it became an independent community that was governed by its own magistrates for around 300 years.

At the end of the 18th century Gargonza became a farm. After the Second World War, peasants left Gargonza and the roofs of many of its buildings quickly collapsed. In the early 70's the current owner Count Roberto Guicciardini C.S. began the restoration of the hamlet; the houses where turned into comfortable rooms, the old olive press room was completely renovated to be used for meetings, concerts, lectures and events.

Gargonza still retains its original charming atmosphere and is ideal for wedding parties up to 90 guests, with its church, its restaurant, its swimming-pool, its garden, all available to arrange memorable events.
