Being a predominately Catholic country there are only a few churches that allow Protestant and Non-Denominational ceremonies. Most of time people seeking a religious ceremony, but not catholic, get married in their own country's town hall or have a civil ceremony in Italy upon arrival. You then can have a symbolically religious ceremony officiated by the celebrant of your own choosing at any location you choose.
